Rowena & Denise Reaching extremes - many individuals in the history of man kind have pushed boundaries in their field of expertise or interest (political, sporting, exploration, artistic, medicine, science, social policy and welfare and physics).
How does the drive to reach extremes manifest itself in idividuals?
Pushing the boundaries to extremes has at times impacted greatly on human life.
Investigate one example of how one person in the pursuit of the extreme has affected human life.
The h....have often come at a great personal cost to the individual in pursuit of the extreme. Why do you believe the cost has worth while. Making the differnce, being the difference is worth while - in your chosen method relect on this statement.

2. Choose one of the above protests and make a cartoon strip to show the sequence of events.
3. Provide evidence of how successful your cartoon strip protest was.
4. Write a letter of protest about something of which you are passionate.

Joanne Bellette News Flash - It's a conspiracy
1. Research a famous conspiracy theory and explain both the traditional and alternate theory of events.
2. Make a 3D model that is representative of your famous conspiracy theory - explain the meaning of your selected images/words.
3. Create your own conspiracy theory about an event that is currently in the media. Distribute it to all members of the pod and collect feedback as to whether they believe it to be impossible/possible/probable.
Musical Connection - Rachel
Michael Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. He was only 8 when he began singing lead vocals for the Jackson 5 and touring America as part of the group. By the same token musical stars often steal the limelight and make front page news when they arrive in Australia for performances and concerts such as Lady Gaga and her egg entrance at the Grammy Awards.
By now you may have developed your own songs and/or be able to play an instrument at an advanced level. Write a song or piece of music using correct musical annotation and record the track for submission to your mentor. Submit a one page personal log to accompany the music to allow your mentor to see how you developed the idea for your work and the process you went through to produce the final product. Think about a catchy title for your song, the message you are delivering and with whom you would like to connect with this piece of music.

The massive growth of participants in social networking (Facebook / Twitter) has enabled opressed people in the Middle East to be able to organise mass demonstrations and even bring down dictators. On the other hand, personal privacy is now at risk as networkers throw open their lives to others and the concept of "Big Brother" becomes an inevitable reality.
Examine the phenomenen and suggest ways that privacy might be safeguarded without sacrificing freedom of speech.
