So is there any truth to this mysterious twin connection? Do these things really happen?
Your task is to provide a greater insight into this strange and documented phenomena and critically prove or disprove the idea that these connections actually exist.
    Cults and Belonging - Debbie
The World Dictionary defines Religion as
belief in, worship of, or obedience to a supernatural power or powers considered to be divine or to have control of human destiny
What is it that builds this connection between self, others and a divine leader? Why do people believe in the existence of an ideology that cannot be proven scientifically, or follow one who believes they are “divine”?
Unfortunately there has been an increasing growth in various “Religions” and cults within societies of the world where followers will defy social acceptance to maintain the philosophy of their belief systems.
What causes people to follow charismatic leaders and feel the need to be part of these groups that result in the destruction of either themselves or others?
Your task is to research a cult, the need for followers to be connected to its belief systems, how it developed, the impact the cult has had on their lifestyle and the price that people have paid to ensure their beliefs are upheld.

Music is able to soothe and calm or energise and invigorate yet all music is designed to send a message of one kind or another. Choose a selection of music from classical, reggae, pop, r & b and try to find at least 6 different messages within these songs other than love stories or broken hearts (country and western music is usually good for telling a story).

    ...
Michael Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. He was only 8 when he began singing lead vocals for the Jackson 5 and touring America as part of the group. By the same token musical stars often steal the limelight and make front page news when they arrive in Australia for performances and concerts such as Lady Gaga and her egg entrance at the Grammy Awards.
By now you may have developed your own songs and/or be able to play an instrument at an advanced level. Write a song or piece of music using correct musical annotation and record the track for submission to your mentor. Submit a one page personal log to accompany the music to allow your mentor to see how you developed the idea for your work and the process you went through to produce the final product. Think about a catchy title for your song, the message you are delivering and with whom you would like to connect with this piece of music.
Social networks: Revolution or devolution? - Jeff
The massive growth of participants in social networking (Facebook / Twitter) has enabled opressed people in the Middle East to be able to organise mass demonstrations and even bring down dictators. On the other hand, personal privacy is now at risk as networkers throw open their lives to others and the concept of "Big Brother" becomes an inevitable reality.
Examine the phenomenen and suggest ways that privacy might be safeguarded without sacrificing freedom of speech.

Hi all, while reading through all the ideas you have uploaded I came to the conclusion that our focus was a bit too narrow. I feel many of the single ideas you have created can be incorporated into broader questions. Also, with only three tasks this year it is important that we stretch the challenge across as many topics as possible to ensure students have sufficient choice. I have attempted to develop a structure for the tasks so that one inquiry question will provide opportunities to explore lots of topic concepts/ideas within the theme and sub-themes.
